Prize Winners!

Parramatta poet Grace Culshaw took first prize at the ZineWest Launch with her elegant and evocative "Some Poems for Chris". Chris Hale followed with his sharply funny comic "Revolution 9" and Steven Cavanagh secured third place with a rivetting piece of flash fiction "World of Hurt".
Mentions went to Lyn Leerson - "A Life Regained", Carol Amos - "Death by Deception", Leila Walshaw for her cartoon "Dedicated to.... Sleeping" and Patty Jansen for her flash fiction "Straight through the Heart". Congratulations to you all for a brilliant effort and to all the other finalists who gave you loads of competition. And thanks also to the editors Sue Crawford, Ellie Ellie and Lil Scully plus all the organisers of the HomeWord Festival. Special mentions to Parramatta City Council for supporting HomeWord through the Community Grants Scheme and Jane Goodall our judge and Ivor Indyk head of the Writing and Society Research Group of University of Western Sydney for generously increasing the prize value.

Lastly another special mention for the artists whose images enriched our zine cover: Joanne Grieve, Federico Mendoza, Nazanin Marashian and Stan Florek.

It was a great time, Sue.

Is the Zine for sale over the net, or anywhere else?
