Zines are respectable now

The wonderfully enlightened experts at the Sydney Writers Festival have come out with a definition of a zine. Describes NWG Inc publications efforts to a 'T'. Suddenly we are respectable (sort of). Amateur is okay. Photocopying the sign of being genuine. Minimum profits perfectly acceptable.

"What are zines? Zines come in all different shapes and sizes. Generally they are handmade, non-professional, non-commercial photocopied publications. Some commonly found types of zines are personal zines (perzines), art zines, zines about music and politics, or fanzines about a person, place or thing." (SWF PDF doc.)

So have you a self-published book of verse, stapled pages of private ranting? Go sell at the Sydney Festival! Check out the SWF site for details(Can't go sell ZineWest 07 though - have to wait for the launch Sunday 10th June 2:15-4:15!!
